Safety Cameras Planned for School Zones

7 am - 4:30 pm
To provide for safer streets near schools, the City will be installing safety cameras on NE 178th St. near Brookside School and 37th Ave. NE near Lake Forest Park School. These cameras will take photographs of cars between two stationery cameras. Radar will tell if the car is speeding.
A photograph will be taken of the license and an infraction will be issued to the owner of the car. The infractions are treated in the same way parking tickets are treated. This infraction will not appear on the violator’s driving record.
