Earth Hour
March 28, 2009--8:30 pm
Lake Forest Park will be participating in Earth Hour this year. Mayor Hutchinson will turn off the lights at City Hall at 8:30 pm for an hour. It is one way to show we are making changes for climate. You are invited to join in by turning off your lights between 8:30 and 9:30 pm.
Where in the World is Earth Hour? Just like New Years Eve, Earth Hour will travel from time zone to time zone starting at 8:30 pm in New Zealand. Around the planet we expect a thousand cities to participate. Teachers, students and families can learn more at EarthHourKids.org, and click on the following link to play our Geo Bee. Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council’s
Readers Theater Presents: Saving Nature and Karmic Koffee
by Nicola Pearson
Monday, March 30 at 7 pm, Ballinger Room, Shoreline Center , 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155
The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is proud to present two plays by Nicola Pearson, Saving Nature and Karmic Koffee on Monday, March 30 at 7pm. Saving Nature is an improbable but compelling story of the rescue of Nature from an industrial building site. Paired with this environmental fantasy is another of Pearson’s short plays. In Karmic Koffee, a brew that can put Starbuck’s to shame is peddled by a young man who wishes good fortune to the world he sells his product to.
A coffee, cookie and discussion time is scheduled after the presentation when audience, playwright, and cast will have the opportunity to exchange ideas about the script.
