Lake Forest Park Cares

With economic news growing more difficult everyday, the community in Lake Forest Park will help make a difference for their hungry neighbors. From March 16-28, Curves and Friends of Lake Forest Park will sponsor a food drive with all collections going to Hopelink.

Drop sites at the Lake Forest Park Towne Centre are: Curves, Third Place Commons, City Hall, A Better Day Salon, and Albertsons.

Hilary Howarth, owner of Curves in LFP, was moved to expand Curves annual food drive when she heard a local woman detail her dire situation on a national radio show. “She realized that to cover her other expenses, she could afford to eat only two meals a day,” Ms. Howarth explains. “She is a resident in our own community, and that was last fall. Imagine how much worse it is for her and for so many more of our neighbors now.”

Ms. Howarth is encouraged by the caring attitude and community spirit in Lake Forest Park. “I know we can make a difference if everyone who can shares at least one bag of groceries with people who are having the hardest time right now.”

Hopelink suggests donations of non-perishable items such as rice, canned fruit and vegetables, oatmeal, and other staples. A complete shopping list is available at all drop sites at the Lake Forest Park Towne Centre.
