The 30-minute Census employment test of basic skills is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm Fridays through April 2009, at Lake Forest Park City Hall 17425 Ballinger Way NE, Lake Forest Park, WA 98155. No appointment necessary. Bring two forms of identification.

The Second Annual Lake Forest Park Home-Based Business Fair
Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Third Place Commons.

Do you know there are about 250 Home-Based Businesses in our city. Your neighbors are providing a wide range of goods and services to our community. Our city is rich with resources and opportunities.


The Lake Forest Park Economic Development Commission will sponsor the Second Annual Lake Forest Park Home-Based Business Fair on Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Third Place Commons. The fair is FREE!

Plan to attend the Lake Forest Park Home-Based Business Fair, Saturday, March 14, 2009. Hear the success stories of current home-based business owners, be inspired and learn how you can start your own business in Lake Forest Park. There will be prizes to win, friends to make and businesses to access.


League of Women Voters: Lake Forest Park

The mission of the League of Women Voters is to promote good government by studying and acting on issues. The meeting is open to anyone interested in participating


Help plan a new Shorecrest High School at our second Community Outreach Meeting
Thursday, March 19, 2009, 7 to 9 p.m. Shorecrest High School Library, 15343 25th Ave. N.E.
The themes and comments collected at the first meeting Jan. 22 will be summarized by the architects. They will then present several development concepts based on community and design team input. Response from the March community meeting, along with further design team feedback, will then be used to refine the alternatives so that a preferred approach may be presented in a third community meeting on June 4.

Scot Trot --Are you Hot to Scot Trot? Saturday, March 21, 2009, 8:30 a.m


Shorecrest High School Boosters hosts its only fundraiser of the season – the new Scot Trot all-ages 5K and kindergarten-6th grade 2K fun run/walk with post-race “Dash-n-Dine” pancake breakfast.


This healthy community-wide event starts at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, March 21, at Shoreline Stadium. Participants enjoy free t-shirt, festive on-course entertainment and post-race prizes, courtesy of Scot Trot sponsor, Cornerstone Architectural Group. Proceeds benefit extra-curricular programs.


Students entry: $15; $30 for adults. Sign up at Third Place Books, Shorecrest High School or www.ShorecrestBoosters.org.


No sign-ups needed for 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. breakfast ($5 for teens and adults; $3 for 6th graders and younger, and seniors 65+.) Participants enjoy breakfast discounts, courtesy of Shoreline Bank.

The Shoemaker and the Elves, is a folktale/fairytale recounted by the Grimm brothers. It sparkles with wit and humor as two endearing elves come to the rescue of shoemaker, Mel Footmeyer and his wife Tootsie. Each night the elves create more shoes and soon everyone wants a pair. The play is performed with rod puppets, hand-rod puppets and shadow puppets. www.TOJT.com


Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council’s, Readers Theater Presents: Saving Nature and Karmic Koffee, by Nicola Pearson, Monday, March 30 at 7 pm, Ballinger Room, Shoreline Center, 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155


The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is proud to present two plays by Nicola Pearson, Saving Nature and Karmic Koffee on Monday, March 30 at 7pm. Saving Nature is an improbable but compelling story of the rescue of Nature from an industrial building site. Paired with this environmental fantasy is another of Pearson’s short plays. In Karmic Koffee, a brew that can put Starbuck’s to shame is peddled by a young man who wishes good fortune to the world he sells his product to.


A coffee, cookie and discussion time is scheduled after the presentation when audience, playwright, and cast will have the opportunity to exchange ideas about the script
