A Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.


Join Dr. Gloria Burgess and the Sound of the Northwest for our 9th Annual Tribute to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.‘s inspiring legacy of service, hope, and community.

Children of all ages are welcome.


January 20, 2008, Inaugural Watch at Third Place Commons, 8 am to 10 am. A TV will be set up on stage to watch the swearing in the speech and the parade.   Share the inauguration with friends and family.


Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 6:00 pm the Burke Gilman Trail consolidated public hearing will begin with the applicant’s presentation; the public comment portion of the hearing will begin at 7:00 pm. If the hearing cannot be concluded on the January 21, it will be reconvened at 6:00 pm on Monday, January 26. The Hearing Examiner has imposed time limits on testimony at this hearing:  Each speaker will be limited to not more than three (3) minutes; time is not cumulative and may not be given to others. The Examiner may relax the time limits depending upon hearing attendance. Lengthy testimony may be submitted in written form.

Fridays in January The 30-minute Census employment test of basic skills is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm Fridays in December and January, at Lake Forest Park City Hall 17425 Ballinger Way NE, Lake Forest Park, WA 98155.  No appointment necessary.  Bring two forms of identification.
