Prepare for potential flooding

Please check your drains and drainage ditches to be sure water is flowing. Over the next several days the weather will hover around freezing.  As the snow melts and freezes, there is a potential for flooding.   Please check the drains and ditch lines around your home to be sure they are flowing.

Drainage Ditch---Ditches can also freeze and create ice dams that have the potential for flooding. Clear the ditches where water enters the pipe and remove the snow behind the entrance point.

Drain --Check drains for snow, ice and debris.  Make sure there is a pathway for water to travel to the drain and then down the drain.

It is your responsibility to prepare for the impacts of flooding on your property.
