Public Works Department

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Public Works Department provides a wide variety of services to the citizens of Lake Forest Park and to the City of Kenmore through a contract. The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance, operation and repair of the City’s streets, surface water infrastructure, buildings & grounds facilities, parks, sanitary sewer, and 24/7 emergency response. Four separate funds provide the resources for these activities: the General Fund the City Street Fund, the Surface Water Utility Fund, and the Sewer Utility Fund. The City of Kenmore pays the City of Lake Forest Park for their share of public works services. Working together, both cities are able to provide more employee response and better fleet capital investment, overall service provision at less cost than either city could provide individually.

Frank Zenk administers the Public Works department. Public Works maintains the City's infrastructure — roads, parks, drainage, and the sanitary sewer system. He can be reached at 206-368-5440.
