Human Resources assists city departments in attracting, motivating and retaining a qualified, effective and diverse workforce, and provides employment-related services to the city's employees and to job applicants.

The functions performed by the Human Resources Department include:

  • Recruitment & selection
  • Classification & compensation
  • Benefits coordination
  • Labor & employee relations
  • Training

The Human Resources Department is part of the Administrative Services Department which also handles risk management and online communications for the city.
